CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Northwestern State women's basketball team will end its three-game road swing on Tuesday when it takes on Texas A&M- Corpus Christi at 5 o'clock in the American Bank Center in Southland Conference play.
Corpus Christi (3-21, 2-11 SLC) is the only conference team that NSU (9-15, 5-9 SLC) has yet to face this season. The Lady Demons have four games to play in league play, two are with the Islanders.
Both programs will go into the game after losses. Corpus Christi lost at Oral Roberts 81-59 on Saturday, and Northwestern State lost two games a week ago at Southeastern Louisiana and at Nicholls State.
NSU is led in scoring this season by
Jasmine Upchurch who averages 12.3 points a contest. She is second on the team rebounds with 6.1 a game behind
Jasmine Bradley who grabs 6.3.
Keisha Lee averages 11 points and Janelle Perez averages 10.7 a game.
The Islanders' leading scorer is Ashley Darley who averages 8.7 points a game this season, and Jessica Jammer averages eight a contest.
As a team, the Lady Demons average 53.4 points contest; Corpus Christi averages 48.4 a game.
Northwestern State will take a break from conference play Saturday when they take on New Orleans at home for a noon tip-off.
