CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Currently on a four-game win-streak and off to the best Southland Conference start in program history, the Northwestern State volleyball team heads to SLC foe Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday for a one o'clock start at Dugan Wellness Center.

The Lady Demons (11-9 overall, 7-1 SLC) conference record marks the best start in league play in program history, surpassing the 2012, 5-3 start.

NSU ended the 2012 regular season tied for third with the Islanders (14-7, 9-1) as the two teams split meetings last year, only winning on their home floor.

AMCC picked up its seventh win in a row Thursday night with a 3-1 defeat over Stephen F. Austin while NSU came out on top of a 3-1 decision at Houston Baptist, also on Thursday.

Emily Johnson recorded double-doubles in the win over HBU. Elrod leads the Lady Demon attack with 3.00 kills per set, ranking 13
th in the Southland while Johnson sits 12
th in assists with 5.54 per set.

Caiti O'Connell and Elrod sit side-by-side in service aces, knocking down .31 and .30 per set, respectively.

Keelie Arneson ranks 27
th nationally and holds down first place in Southland digs per set ahead of Oral Roberts' Bruna Silva with 5.20. Silva digs up 4.97 per set.

SLC Offensive Player of the Week, Ivy Baresh, holds down fourth in the Southland with 3.64 kills per set. Baresh also knocks down .29 service aces per set. Setter Logen Bourque ranks second in assists with 11.16 per set while libero Hailey King digs up 4.03 attacks per set.  Â

Shayla Maldonado earned conference Defensive Player of the Week after digging up 55 digs (6.88 per set) last week.

The Lady Demons return home on Thursday and Saturday for a pair of "Dig Pink" matches with Lamar and Sam Houston State. The Lady Demons will be wearing pink uniforms in honor of breast cancer awareness month.
