NATCHITOCHES – Following a stellar performance in which a career-high 30 points were scored in a win over Texas-Arlington on Saturday, Trudy Armstead will be knocking on the door of another milestone on Wednesday when she and the rest of the Lady Demons visit Nicholls State in Southland Conference women's hoops action.

Tip-off is slated for 6:30 at Nicholls' Stopher Gym.  The game will by carried live on the Demon Sports Network with Tony Taglavore calling the action.

Armstead helped lead the Lady Demons to an 86-70 win over UTA in the team's last outing and snapped a nine-game losing streak.  With her 30 points, Armstead is just 20 points away from reaching the 1,000 career points scored milestone and becoming just the 24th player in school history to do so.

The Lady Demons (6-21, 2-12) will be looking for their first winning streak of the season but will have to face a Nicholls squad that defeated the Lady Demons 83-69 in the early part of January in Natchitoches.

In addition to Armstead's scoring attack, the Lady Demons have gotten impressive numbers from senior guard Jordi James, who added 26 points in Saturday's win and chipped in for a career-best 32 points the week prior.

James, who leads the team and is ranked eighth in the league in scoring with a 14.9 ppg mark, is averaging 22.3 points a game her last four outings and has knocked down 14 of 27 for 52 percent from 3-point range and is coming off a game where she knocked down 5 of 7 from beyond the arc.

The Lady Colonels (13-14, 6-8) are nearing the end of the program's most successful season since the 1999 slate when they finished 13-14 and 11-7 in conference play.  Nicholls, who is led in scoring by Sumar Leslie's 16.1 points per game, is trying to lock down its first trip to the league's postseason tournament since the 2001 season.

Following Wednesday's game, the Lady Demons will return home for the season finale on Saturday against Stephen F. Austin.  Two seniors, James and Ronikka Drake, will be recognized in a pregame ceremony.
