Southland TV set for Demons' home finale

2/28/2012 7:44:00 PM

Viewers around the country catch watch on ESPN3.com while TV audiences served by the Shreveport-Bossier marketplace can tune to ME TV KPXJ Digital Channel 21.2  to watch the Southland TV telecast as Nicholls State visits Northwestern State Wednesday in the Toyota Game of the Week on the Southland Conference Television Network.

Northwestern State has already secured a spot in the 2012 Southland Conference Basketball Tournament March 7-10 at the Merrell Center in Katy, Texas. The Demons can improve their seeding in the tournament with a win against Nicholls, which is trying to reach the tournament for a fourth consecutive season.

Three-time Louisiana sportscaster of the year Lyn Rollins -- a pround Northwestern alumnus --  will handle play-by-play duties, and will be joined by former Baylor head coach Jim Haller, the color analyst. Chris Mycoskie, the Southland Conference's director of television and electronic media, will host the Toyota Halftime Report, which will include a feature story on NSU senior William Mosley and an interview with NSU president Dr. Randy Webb.

Local and area fans are encouraged to come to Prather Coliseum wearing purple and ready to take advantage of $1 hot dogs at the concesssion stands. The game is the last one at home for the Demons this season. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for students with NSU students admitted free with a student ID.

All Southland TV games will be streamed live and for free on SLC NOW on conference's website, Southland.org. Live coverage is also accessible via ESPN3.com and on the WatchESPN application for iPhone, iPad, Android and Xbox Live users.

In Beaumont-Port Arthur, KUIL (12.3) will air the game on same-day delay, with airtime set for Wednesday at 9:30 p.m., Central. Viewers in the Pittsburgh, Pa., and Washington, D.C., markets can enjoy delayed coverage the same evening on The Comcast Network, Wednesday at 10 p.m., Central.
