Lady Demons return to the floor after extended break

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – After an almost three week break, the Northwestern State women's basketball team will return to the court Friday at 7 o'clock when they take on Arkansas.

NSU (4-4) last played on Dec. 4 when they lost 63-31 to Prairie View A&M. The Razorbacks (10-1) have won seven straight and including a 99-42 win over Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday.

The Lady Demons are led in scoring by Jasmine Upchurch who averages 11.1 points a game. Janelle Perez follows with 10.5 a contest.

In rebounding, Jasmine Bradley leads the way with 6.1 a game; she is third in scoring.

Kiera Peak (14.5), Sarah Watkins (12.6), and Quistel Williams (10.7) average in double-figures for the Razorbacks. Peak is also the leader in rebounds with 6.7 a game.

Arkansas will be the third straight team that made it to the NCAA tournament last season to face NSU.

The Lady Demons will travel to Mississippi State Dec. 28 before returning home to open Southland Conference play against McNeese State Jan. 3. The game will be broadcast on 100.7 KZBL in Natchitoches and online at nsudemons.com
