OXFORD, Miss.- After scoring 21 points against Alcorn State, freshman point guard Janelle Perez will lead the Northwestern State women's basketball team on the road at Ole Miss Friday at 11 a.m. in C.M “Tad” Smith Coliseum.
The early tipoff time is due to the 10th annual Kid's Day Game.
Northwestern State (2-0) went on a 10-0 run late in the second half, sparked by a three-pointer from Perez followed by another by
Keisha Lee, to overcome an eight-point deficit at home against Alcorn State win 55-50 Monday night.
Ole Miss (1-0) took on Southland Conference member Southeastern Louisiana Nov. 9 and won the game 95-85.
The Lady Demons are led in scoring by Perez, who averages 15 points a game, and in rebounding by
Jasmine Bradley and
Jasmine Upchurch who each average seven a contest.
Ole Miss holds the all-time series lead 3-1 including the last two played in 2008 and 1994.

Northwestern State will return to Prather Coliseum Tuesday for a game against Wiley College at 7 o'clock.
