TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Fresh off its largest scoring output under eighth-year head coach Jennifer Graf, Northwestern State will return to the hardwood on Friday when it visits Alabama at 6:30.

The game will be carried live on the Demon Sports Network with Tony Taglavore calling all of the action.  The network is flagshipped by 100.7 KZBL-FM in Natchitoches.

This will be the seventh meeting between the two schools with Alabama holding a perfect 6-0 mark in the all-time series.  The Crimson Tide won the last meeting by a 61-56 score in December of 2009.

Both teams will enter Friday's game with identical 1-1 records.  NSU whipped Centenary 109-72 this past Tuesday while Alabama was upset 58-46 at Central Arkansas.  Northwestern will be the third consecutive Southland Conference opponent Alabama has faced to begin the season.  The Tide defeated Nicholls State 72-51 to open the season.

NSU junior forward Trudy Armstead will lead the Lady Demon charge into Friday's game.  Armstead is coming off a game where she tied career highs in points (25) and rebounds (13) in the big win over Centenary.  Also in that game, junior center Jasmine Upchurch sank a career-high 19 points while sophomore guard Tiandra Williams added a career-best 10 points.

The 109 points scored as the most by a Lady Demon team since scoring 105 against Troy in 1998.

Armstead leads NSU with an 18.5 scoring average while senior guard Jordi James follows with a 12.5 mark.  As a team, the Lady Demons are averaging 79 points a game and are hitting 44 percent of their shots from the field.

Alabama is led in scoring by Meghan Perkins' 11.5 average and Kyra Crosby at 10 ppg.  The Crimson Tide are sinking 59 points a game and are hitting 39 percent of their shots from the field.

Following Friday's game, the Lady Demons will travel to the southern part of the state for a Monday evening matchup with South Alabama.
