NATCHITOCHES – With a potential sellout looming for the Northwestern State football game Saturday at Lamar, the first football contest between the schools since 1979, Demons fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets in the NSU section through the NSU Athletic Ticket Office or on the nsudemons.com website.
 
Tickets for the 6 p.m. game at 17,000-seat Provost Umphrey Stadium on the Lamar campus in Beaumont cost $15. Lamar, in its first year of Southland Conference play in the sport and only the second year of competition since dropping football in 1986, has attracted capacity crowds to home games.
 
NSU athletic ticket manager Kyle Barnard stressed that he does have tickets in the NSU section available, but it is a limited number and a sellout before or on Saturday is very likely. The NSU ticket office phone is 318-357-4268.
 
The NSU section is E102. Visitor's ticket will call is gate 3, with gates open at 4 o'clock Saturday.
 
Paid and free parking is available, according to Lamar officials. For paid locations closest to the stadium, which permit tailgating, contact the Lamar ticket office (409-880-1715) for prices ranging from $10-100. Free parking where tailgating is allowed, just not open pits or visible alcoholic beverages, is available further from the stadium at the Lamar Institute of Technology parking lots. Free parking where tailgating is not allowed options exist across the Lamar University campus across the Martin L. King Parkway from the football stadium.
