SHREVEPORT -- With the cross country season in the final stages, Northwestern State lines up with a dozen other teams Saturday at the Centenary Cross Country Invitational on the Disc Course off the Clyde Fant Parkway.
The women will run 6,000 meters beginning at 9 a.m. with the men going 8,000 meters at 9:45.
Along with NSU and Centenary, participating schools are Sam Houston State, Grambling, Houston Baptist, East Texas Baptist, LeTourneau, Lon Morris, Louisiana College, Texas-Tyler, Paul Quinn, Wiley College and Dallas.
Mark Dotson has been the Demons' top finisher all year long while
Lawana Perkins has been the most consistent top performer for the Lady Demons.
NSU runs again next Friday afternoon at home in the Demon Invitational based at the Walter P. Ledet Track Complex, covering the same course to be used in next month's Louisiana High School Association Cross Country Championships.
