Stroud in 1928 and 1929 … played for professional teams in Shreveport, Monroe and Cody, Wyoming … returned to NSU to finish his degree in 1934 … among the first to be inducted into the NSU alumni hall of fame Long Purple Line as part of its inaugural class in 1990 … inducted into the Louisiana Political Hall of Fame after serving as a lieutenant governor (1948), state representative, state auditor and superintendent of public education.
