Joseph was the 1995 Southland Conference and Louisiana “Player of the Year” … twice an Academic All-American (1993, 1995) … the New Orleans native was a three-time All-Southland Conference as the Demons won three straight SLC championships and played in the 1994 NCAA Midwest Regional … advanced in professional baseball to the Triple-A level with the Chicago Cubs before going into coaching … ended his Demon career (1992-95) as the leader in 10 offensive categories: games (205), at bats (658), runs (231), hits (225), doubles (45), triples (16), total bases (383), steals (100), walks (115) and hit by pitch (30). As a senior, he hit .404 with 14 homers and 54 RBI, setting single season marks with 70 runs and 33 steals … got into football coaching as now is the defensive backs coach at Notre Dame in 2018 after stops at Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Louisiana Tech.
