A West Monroe native who was the 1970 Gulf States Conference Offensive Back of the Year, Ware set a Demons’ single-game rushing record with 186 yards on 34 carries as a senior against Southwestern Oklahoma …broke the single-season rushing mark (835 yards) that year … raised school marks for most carries in a game (34), season (186) and career (401) while tying records for touchdowns in a game (3) and career (21) … permanent team captain and team MVP in 1970, and Most Valuable Offensive Back for the Demons in his last two seasons … also won team’s Scholastic Award … honorable mention All-America as a senior … also voted Mr. NSU in 1970-71 and was president of the N-Club … became a highly regarded district judge in Coushatta, a noted advocate of child and youth causes, and was longtime color commentator for NSU football broadcasts … also played tennis for Coach Johnnie Emmons … on Top 100 Demons of the Century roster chosen for 2007 football centennial celebration
