A key competitor on three straight Gulf Star Conference championship track teams, “Sister” Walker played on a pair of GSC basketball championship teams … in track, was a team captain in 1955 … a Dry Prong native, he ran on the Demons’ mile relay team all four seasons, twice breaking the GSC record (3:23.1 as a senior) under Coach Walter Ledet … ran the 440, 880 individually … lettered four seasons in basketball, with the Demons winning 20 games in each of his last three years under Coach Red Thomas.
