One of the original 12 recipients of state’s first athletic scholarships for women at NSU in 1975 as a volleyball and badminton athlete… although she didn’t play basketball , she became a highly successful high school basketball coach at Natchitoches Central, winning state titles in 1981, 1986 (No.1 USA Today ranking) and 1987 … joined NSU staff as associate head coach with James Smith … in her only season, helped Lady Demons reach 1989 NCAA Tournament … after returning to high school ranks at West Monroe, became successful head coach at ULM for 19 seasons, posting 263 wins until retiring in 2014.
