Cook is the first N-Club Hall of Fame member to be primarily a track athlete … standout in the 100 and 220-yard dashes while running legs of the 440- and 880-yard relays … part of two school records in the 440 yard relay (43.5) and the 880-yard relay (129:9) in 1931 … one the best short sprinters in NSU history, tying the school mark in the 100-yard dash at 10 seconds … pushed an Olympic sprinter and Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame member Emmitt Toppino in one meet in South Carolina, rising above other challengers.
