Ashley Hardee

Ashley Hardee joined the Northwestern State volleyball staff in August, bringing a re-sume full of head coaching experience with him to Natchitoches.

Hardee has nearly two decades of coaching experience at the Division I level, including five seasons as the head coach at North Dakota and one season as the interim head beach vol-leyball coach at UAB.

In his five seasons at the helm of the North Dakota program, Hardee complied a 122-63 record, claimed three regular-season conference championships and three conference tourna-ment titles. He was a two-time conference coach of the year as well.

He was named the 2010 North Dakota AP College Coach of the Year after leading North Dakota to a 25-5 record and the Great West Tournament and regular-season championships.

He spent the previous three seasons on staff at UAB, the last two as associate head coach. The time at UAB was Hardee’s second stint as a Division I assistant after he spent eight seasons as an assistant at New Mexico State.

???????Hardee proved to be a talented recruiter during his time with the Aggies, successfully drawing three All-American recruits to Las Cruces. In his 11 years as a Division I assistant coach, Hardee has helped his teams reach five NCAA Tournaments.

???????Hardee played eight years of beach volleyball, competing in Open/AA/A level beach tournaments. While at UAB, he gained three years of beach volleyball administration experi-ence at the Division I level.

Throughout his career, Hardee has been involved with USA Volleyball, coaching the 2006 High Performance National Select Champions. He was the head coach of the Sun Country Region, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for four years (2003, 2005-07) and holds a Level 1 certification from the Coaching Accreditation Program.

???????Hardee also has five seasons of coaching experience with the Diamondback Volleyball Club in Las Cruces. Twice during his tenure, Diamondback qualified for the Junior Olympic Nationals. He also founded the East Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club in Greenville, North Carolina.

???????Hardee, who began his career by posting a 40-9 record in two seasons as the head coach at J.H. Rose High School in Greenville, is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and has represented the Western Athletic Conference on the NCAA Assistant Coaches Committee.
