MONROE – In Northwestern State's opening act of the cross country season at the ULM Warhawk Invite, Lady Demon senior Erin Wrozek seized first place individually, leading the Lady Demon team took a second place finish in the three-team event featuring Grambling and host ULM.
 
The Lady Demon squad claimed three of the top-five spots, as Wrozek (1^st), fellow senior Emily Sitarz (4^th) and sophomore Emily Heard (5^th) led the way for the women's team.
 
Others placing for the Lady Demons were senior Erin Sitarz, (11^th), freshman Isabella Hudson (12^th), transfer student Hannah Heidebrecht (13^th) and freshman Atianna Parks (17^th).
 
The men's team finished third as freshman Darius Groves led the way for the Demons (7^th, 18:33).
 
Others participating on the men's side were: freshman Blake Cantrell (14^th, 19:08), senior Grant Butts (18^th, 19:52), junior Dylan Dunford (20^th, 20:16), freshman Hayden Robertson (21^st, 20:46), sophomore Jacob Hammons (22^nd, 22:08), freshman Colby Clark (23^rd, 22:15), freshman Denim Reeves (24^th, 22:24), senior Hunter Womack (26^th, 22:49), senior Anthony Renteria (27^th, 23:28), and senior Tyler Corwin (28^th, 26:55).
 
The NSU cross country teams will travel to Louisiana Tech on Sept. 16 for the Mook Triple Duals that are slated to begin at 8:45 a.m. in Ruston, LA.
